The Golden Eagle, symbol of power, majestically beautiful… Spirit lost one of his thumbs battling another male.  Unable to hunt, he would not have survived in the wild.  He now lives at the Three Rivers Avian Center, a raptor sanctuary, cared for and in the company of humans, but forever apart from his kind.  Shot with a Canon XSi camera at the Three Rivers Avian Center in West Virginia
