I would categorize this image as Realistic Expressionism.  It is ultra realistic – and yet creates a strongly moody effect.  I saw the broken horse on the front porch of a house off the beaten track in a residential street adjacent to an area filled with abandoned factories.  I was immediately struck by the similarities of the two scenes.  It seemed to me the horse was galloping its heart out and still getting nowhere.  Shot  with a Canon XSi camera.
